The Concept

The device with which you are viewing this web page be it a personal computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet has an operating system.

Nothing happens on that device until the operating system loads. It controls the keyboard and the "mouse" or the screen you use to navigate. It deciphers the swipes your fingers make to perform the tasks that the programmer contemplated you wanted to make to make the device perform specific tasks.

Among other thing it does it tells the keyboard that the letter “a” is an “a”; it tells the monitor how to display and the memory how to save information. The operating system also contains the necessary information for the printer you use to print.

Businesses, governments, religions etc. also have operating systems. A representation is below.

Their operating systems also consists or rules and regulations necessary for the organization to function in the manner that the executives or founder desires.

Everyone in the world has an operating system; although we don't refer to it as an operating system. Our operating system controls everything we think, say or do.

If we use the analogy of an operating system, however, we will be able to Think Differently about what we do and why we do it.

The smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer's operating system controls everything that happens on that particular device.

The operating system on the device you are using was written by programmers; our operating system was also.

Computer and smartphone operating system software developers often upgrade or improve the operating systems they sell (Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Mobile, Apple System X, Apple IOS, Unix, Linux, Google Android, Symbian, etc.). They update the software to fix "bugs", prevent viruses and/ or add new features.

This web site explains some of the components of your operating system and offers some tools that will allow you to upgrade and improve your operating system. This will help you to realize and examine why you do what you do.
