Perhaps
the majority of people in industrialized society come in at Level 2.
They tend to perceive their environment, and possible strategies for dealing
with it, through a relatively fixed set of values and beliefs.
They allow themselves to be conditioned by society to be one-track thinkers,
time driven, responsive to the environment and striving for perfection.
The environment is perceived as a resource, to be exploited, treated as
a commodity, turned into possessions and profit.
Emotions are rationalized. Dualities play a commanding role in such a
person’s life. They seem to oppose each other (good-bad, masculine-feminine,
reason-intuition), resulting in competitiveness and need for control.
This person is playing the main role in the movie of his or her life.
